Procedures for Operations at Non-Towered Aerodromes
Procedures for operations at non-towered aerodromes came into effect on 24 November 2005. A non-towered aerodrome is any aerodrome that does not have an operating air traffic control tower.
Pilot Training and Education
The NAS introduced revised procedures for operations at non-towered aerodromes effective from 24 November 2005. Prior to implementation of the procedures, a training and education pack was sent to those pilots holding a current medical certificate.
The training and education material included a booklet, supplemental guidance material, a DVD and a pilot kneepad guide.
