  • The Australian Transport Safety Bureau (ATSB) is Australia's prime agency for the independent investigation of civil aviation accidents, incidents and safety deficiencies.

  • The Minister for Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development and Local Government, the Hon Anthony Albanese MP, released a report on the relationship between the Australian Transport Safety Bureau (ATSB) and the Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA).

  • The Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) of Australia was audited from 9 to 20 August 1999 by an ICAO safety oversight audit team. On 13 October 1999, Australia submitted an action plan addressing all the findings and recommendations contained in the audit interim report.

  • In March 2007 the then Minister for Transport and Regional Services issued a statement of expectations for CASA which provides strategic guidance for CASA and outlines the broad policy framework in which CASA operates. CASA has responded with a statement of intent which the Minister has acknowledged in writing.
