The ATSB advises that, if activities go to plan, there will be an opportunity to film the helicopter recovered off Cairns today, at wharfside in Cairns tomorrow morning (10 August) (details of the venue will be made known when confirmed)
An ATSB investigator will also be available to talk to camera on the recovery, but not about the investigation which is in progress.
Please note that ATSB has agreed to allow a WIN TV Cairns cameraperson to film the recovery and that the footage be made available on a pool basis. It is not known when the launch will return to Cairns today.
ATSB also points out that the investigators have a heavy workload and will not be available to talk to media at other times while in Cairns. Any media inquiries are to be directed to the Bureau on 1 800 020 616
