The National Awards for Local Government (NALG) is an Australian Government initiative established in 1986 to acknowledge and encourage local governments to improve through innovation and excellence their business practices and service delivery to their communities.

Category judging is now taking place. An announcement of the 2008 category and commendation winners is expected to be posted here during the week of 18 August 2008.
