The Australian Explosives Transport Code

The Australian Explosives Code (2nd edition) is currently being reviewed and updated by the Australian Forum of Explosives Regulators (AFER). Further details can be accessed from the AFER website.

The Department of Defence has the legislative responsibility for transport, storage and handling of federal explosives ordnance in accordance with the Explosives Act 1961 and the Explosives Transport Regulations 2002. The day to day administration of this legislation has been delegated by the Minister for Defence to the Commander Joint Logisitics, who is the Competent Authority for explosives ordnance.
